How to download a TikTok video without the watermark
download.fan · Updated
Short answer
Copy the TikTok video's link (Share → Copy link), paste it into Download TikTok Video on download.fan and choose the MP4 marked “No watermark”. TikTok stores an unbranded copy of every video next to the one with the logo, and that's the file you get, so nothing is cropped or blurred.
Step by step
Step 1: Copy the link
In TikTok, tap Share on the video, then Copy link.
Step 2: Paste it into download.fan
Open Download TikTok Video and paste the link into the box.
Step 3: Choose MP4 · No watermark
Pick the highest resolution listed. The download starts right away.
Step 4: Save it to your gallery
On iPhone, open Files → Downloads → Share → Save Video. On Android, it's already in your Downloads album.
What you need
- The link to a public TikTok video
- Any browser: Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox
- No TikTok account, app or extension
Why the file has no watermark
When you save a video inside the TikTok app, TikTok adds a moving logo and the creator's username to the file it gives you. That watermarked copy is generated on the fly, and the logo jumps between corners so it can't simply be cropped off.
The original upload is stored without a logo, and that's the version TikTok plays in the app and on its website. download.fan asks for that file, which is why there's nothing to crop or blur, and why the picture is as sharp as the creator's upload.
Watermark remover apps vs. downloading the clean file
Apps and sites that call themselves watermark removers usually take the branded copy and then cover the logo: they blur it, crop the frame, or paint over it with AI. You end up with a smudge in the corner or a zoomed-in video, and a second round of compression on top of TikTok's.
Downloading the unbranded original avoids all of that. The frame is complete, the resolution is the one TikTok stored, and the sound is untouched. It's also faster, because nothing has to be processed.
On iPhone
Use Safari. Copy the link in TikTok, open Download TikTok Video in Safari, paste the link and tap Download. When Safari asks whether to download the file, tap Download. A blue arrow appears in the address bar while it saves.
To get it into Photos, open the Files app, go to Downloads, press and hold the video and choose Share → Save Video. If you opened our page from inside another app, such as Instagram or a chat, you're in that app's built-in browser, which may not save files. Open the page in Safari first.
On Android
Use Chrome or your phone's own browser. After you tap Download, Chrome shows a notification when the video has saved. It goes to the Downloads folder and appears in Google Photos or your Gallery app within a few seconds, usually in a Downloads album.
If nothing happens when you tap Download, check that Chrome is allowed to save files in Settings → Apps → Chrome → Permissions, and that your phone isn't out of storage.
On Windows or Mac
On a computer you can copy the link straight from the address bar while the video is open on tiktok.com. Paste it, pick the top MP4 and the file goes to your Downloads folder.
Some TikToks are encoded in H.265 (HEVC). Macs play them without trouble, but some older Windows PCs show a black picture with sound. Installing Microsoft's HEVC Video Extensions fixes that, or open the file in VLC, which plays every format.
Which file to pick
- Highest resolution MP4: best for keeping, editing or re-watching on a big screen. Most recent phone videos are 1080p.
- Lower resolution MP4: a smaller file if you're on mobile data.
- MP3: just the sound, useful for a ringtone or a voice-over reference.
When TikTok's own Save button is missing
Creators can turn off downloads for their videos, and then TikTok hides the Save video option. The video is still public and its link still works here. Treat that setting as a hint about what the creator wants: saving a recipe or a tutorial for yourself is fine, while re-posting it is likely to upset them.
When a link won't download
Most failures come from private accounts, deleted videos or links copied from somewhere other than the video itself, such as a profile, LIVE or Shop page. Open the video, copy its link again and retry. Our guide to why a video link won't download covers the less common causes.
Using a downloaded TikTok responsibly
Downloading for personal, offline viewing is very different from re-uploading. If you repost someone's video, ask first and credit them. Many creators are happy to say yes, and TikTok's own rules require it. Removing a watermark doesn't change who owns the video.
Photo posts and sounds
TikTok photo posts, the swipeable slideshows with music, aren't videos, so they don't have an MP4 to download. Use Download TikTok Slideshow for those: it saves every image at full size plus the music as an MP3. For a sound you want as a ringtone, Download TikTok MP3 saves just the audio.
