Accurate timing in your browser
The stopwatch measures time from your device's clock to the hundredth of a second, and keeps counting correctly when the tab is in the background. Press Lap to record split times: each row shows the lap's own time and the running total, so you can compare laps on a track, time several runners or track each part of a task. Full screen makes the time readable from across a room.

Timing begins at once. You can also press the Space bar.

Press Lap at each split. The newest lap appears at the top of the list.

Stop or reset
Stop pauses the stopwatch and Resume carries on. Reset clears the time and the laps.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is it?
It's as accurate as your device's clock, to the hundredth of a second. The display may update a little less often in a background tab, but the time itself stays exact.
What's the difference between lap time and total?
Lap time is how long that lap took. Total is the time from the start to the moment you pressed Lap.
Does it keep running if I close the tab?
No. Closing or reloading the page resets the stopwatch, so keep the tab open while you're timing.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser, and nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
