How do I get the sound from a Douyin video?
Download Douyin MP3 saves the audio track of a Douyin video as an MP3: the background music, the creator's voice and any sound effects, mixed exactly as you hear them in the app. Paste the link (or Douyin's whole share text) and the MP3 is ready in a few seconds.
A lot of Chinese pop songs, C-drama soundtracks and remixes trend on Douyin long before they reach Western streaming services, and some never do. Saving the audio is often the only way to keep a version you can play offline.
How do I find the original song from a Douyin video?
If you want the full studio track rather than a 15-second clip, tap the spinning record in the bottom-right corner of the Douyin video. Its page shows the song title and artist, usually in Chinese. Searching that title on QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, Spotify or Apple Music usually finds the full version, often under a pinyin or English name.
Douyin's music pages also show remixes and sped-up versions. If the MP3 sounds faster or higher than the song you know, the creator probably used one of those.
What audio quality is a Douyin MP3?
Douyin stores audio in AAC, typically between 96 and 128 kbps. We convert it to a 192 kbps MP3 so the conversion doesn't add audible loss. A one-minute clip is about 1.4 MB.
If the sound has been removed from the video for copyright reasons, the downloaded track will be silent or contain only voices. We can only save what Douyin still has.
Using Douyin audio
Common reasons people save Douyin audio:
- Language learning: listening to native speakers in real situations, with the video for context.
- Ringtones and notification sounds: trim the MP3 with Audio Cutter to the part you want.
- Reference tracks for your own dance practice or edits.
- Keeping a song before it disappears from Douyin because of a licensing change.
