download.fan MCP server

The download.fan MCP server lets Claude and other AI assistants point you to the right free tool on download.fan. Ask for a converter, a PDF or image tool, a calculator, a timer or an official app download, and the assistant answers with a link to the page that does it. It's free, read-only and needs no account.

Connect it

In Claude, find download.fan in the connectors directory and select Connect. To add it by hand, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter https://download.fan/mcp/claude. Leave the authentication fields empty.

Other MCP clients can use https://download.fan/mcp, which also includes the video downloaders. It is listed in the official MCP registry as fan.download/tools. Both use the Streamable HTTP transport with no authentication.

Tools

• find_tool (read-only): takes what you want to do, such as “mov to mp4”, “merge pdf” or “bmi calculator”, and returns up to five download.fan pages with a link and a one-line summary each.
• get_download_page (read-only, /mcp only): takes a public post link from a supported platform and returns the download.fan page that opens with that post loaded. YouTube, private and DRM content aren't supported.

Privacy

The server receives only what the assistant passes to a tool: the search text or the post link. It uses that to build the reply and doesn't store or log it. See the privacy policy.
