A weekly time card that adds itself up

Enter when you started and finished each day and how many minutes of unpaid break you took. The calculator works out the hours for each day and the total for the week, both in hours and minutes (like 38:30) and in decimal hours (38.5) for payroll. Add your hourly rate to see your gross pay. Shifts that end after midnight are handled automatically.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate hours worked?

Subtract the start time from the end time, then subtract unpaid breaks. 8:30 to 17:00 with a 30 minute lunch is 8 hours.

What are decimal hours?

Hours written as a decimal number, which payroll systems use. 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours, because 45 minutes is three quarters of an hour.

Does it work for night shifts?

Yes. If a shift ends earlier on the clock than it started, such as 22:00 to 06:00, it's counted as ending the next day: 8 hours.

Does it calculate overtime?

Not separately. Overtime rules differ by country and employer, so compare the weekly total with your contract hours.
