+4 · −1 words
See exactly what changed
Paste the original text on the left and the changed version on the right. The tool finds the longest shared sequence of words (or lines) and highlights everything else: green for text that was added, red with a line through it for text that was removed. Compare by words for documents, essays and contracts; compare by lines for code, lists and configuration files. Everything is compared in your browser, so it's safe for confidential documents.

Frequently asked questions
How does the comparison work?
It uses a longest common subsequence algorithm, the same idea behind tools like git diff, to find the smallest set of additions and deletions.
Does it ignore spacing changes?
In word mode, spaces are kept as separators, so changed spacing shows up as small differences. Line mode treats each whole line as one unit.
Is there a length limit?
Up to about 3,000 words or lines per text, so the comparison stays fast in the browser.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Both texts are compared in your browser and never leave your device.
