Working out cubic feet

Cubic feet = length × width × height, with all three in feet. Measurements in inches are divided by 12 first. A space 10 ft long, 8 ft wide and 6 inches deep is 10 × 8 × 0.5 = 40 cubic feet. Each side can use its own unit here, so you can mix feet and inches or use metric. The result is also shown in cubic yards, cubic meters, liters and US gallons, for moving boxes, freezers, aquariums, soil or concrete.
