Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a discount?

Multiply the price by the discount percentage and divide by 100 to get the saving, then subtract it. 30% off 60 is a saving of 18, so you pay 42.

Is 20% off plus 20% off the same as 40% off?

No. The second discount comes off the already reduced price, so the total is 36% off.

Is the discount applied before or after tax?

Usually before: tax is charged on the discounted price, which is how this calculator works.

Is anything sent to a server?
