Keeping proportions
The aspect ratio is a width-to-height proportion, reduced to its simplest whole numbers: 1920 × 1080 is 16:9. Video and TVs mostly use 16:9, older screens and many photos 4:3 or 3:2, Instagram posts 1:1 or 4:5, and phone videos and Stories 9:16. Enter a width and height to get the ratio, then type a new width to get the matching height, so an image or video scales without stretching.
