Percentage difference vs percentage change

Percentage difference compares two values when neither is the starting point, like two prices or two measurements. It divides the gap by their average: |A − B| ÷ ((A + B) ÷ 2) × 100. For 40 and 50 the difference is 10, the average is 45, so the percentage difference is 22.22%. Percentage change is different because it has a direction: from 40 to 50 is +25%, from 50 to 40 is −20%. The calculator shows all three.
